Ink Pair Prizing Announced

October 15, 2026

For the first time, Disney Lorcana will introduce a unique prize recognizing the highest-performing player for each ink pairing during the Main Events at the upcoming Disney Lorcana Challenge (DLC) Season 3 events in London and Tampa.

The new prize structure is being introduced as a test to explore additional ways of rewarding competitors. The Disney Lorcana team has expressed an interest in recognizing players who find success with different ink combinations while being mindful of how additional prizes could influence the overall competitive environment. The results of this test will help determine whether similar prizes could be offered at future DLC events.

A comparable prize structure was previously used in Riot Games' trading card game, Riftbound, which awarded metal cards to the highest-performing player for each leader during competitive events. Although Riot has since discontinued that particular prize structure, it offered a way to recognize players who achieved strong results with leaders that weren't necessarily considered top choices in the competitive metagame.

The Ink Pairing Prize will feature a non-foil Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Prince (1/P5) promo card.

The card will be awarded to the player with the best record for each of the 15 possible two-color ink pairings during the Friday and Saturday Main Events at each DLC. Mono-ink decks are not eligible for this particular prize.

With 15 eligible ink pairings across two separate Main Events, up to 30 players could receive the promotional card at each DLC, provided all 15 pairings are represented in both events.

At this time, the Ink Pairing Prize is the only announced method of obtaining the Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Prince promotional card (1/P5). Since this prize structure is currently being tested, it remains unclear whether the card will be distributed through other means or whether similar ink pairing prizes will continue at future Disney Lorcana Challenge events.
