During the Disney Lorcana The Quests Ahead panel at D23, the team took some time to provide clarity around a brand-new product type that had previously been unintentionally revealed: Collector Boosters. The initial reveal left many fans both excited and concerned about what these premium packs could mean for regular Disney Lorcana booster packs.
The most important point made during the presentation was that regular booster packs and booster boxes are not changing. The Enchanted and Iconic cards found in regular booster packs will be the exact same versions found in Collector Boosters. However, Collector Boosters will offer a higher chance of pulling these higher-rarity cards.
What's Included
Every card in a 12-card Collector Booster pack will be foil, featuring a new textured foil treatment. Packs will also have the possibility of containing the usual Epic, Enchanted, and Iconic rarities. Iconic, previously the rarest card type in Disney Lorcana, will now be surpassed by an even rarer card type called Illustrious.
Illustrious cards will be serialized out of just 23 copies. That's right: there will only ever be 23 copies of each of the six unique Illustrious cards included with Into the Inkdark Collector Boosters across all regions worldwide.
These cards also feature several changes that set them apart, including placing the artist's name front and center on the card. Unlike other Lorcana cards released around the world, Illustrious cards will feature English text only. Each card will be individually serialized from 01/23 through 23/23.
